2009 Calamity Jane

Having seen how much fun the performers were having, Steve Atkinson made the move from backstage to on-stage, as Julio, a camp Mexican. Two of his fellow Mexicans were also new – Rosie Wainana and Kathy Allan. In fact, that’s not quite true: Kathy had been in the show for several years when she was a teenager, notably as Snow White in 1996.

Kathy was a little disappointed when she and Rosie (the evil, ruthless bandits) were given water pistol prop guns, as they found they has been blocked up so as not to be fired. The audience escaped a drenching thanks to some spoil-sport who pre-empted just how ruthless they might have been!
